Our 4-week pathway is an excellent program for individuals who are interested in obtaining a commercial driver's license (CDL). Our program is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of everything you need to know about commercial driving, from vehicle maintenance to safety procedures. Our experienced instructors will guide you through the entire process and ensure that you are fully equipped with the skills and knowledge required to safely operate a commercial vehicle.

Our 4-week pathway program is an excellent starting point for anyone interested in pursuing a career in the trucking industry.

Kicking the Tires

The course is designed to be completed in either 4 weeks for day classes or 6 weeks for evening classes, with a total of 160 hours of instruction.

Total Clock Hours:

Students will learn how to properly operate the control systems of a tractor and trailer.
Prerequisites: None.

Basic Operations:

Students will master visual methods for visuals searches of traffic including night driving, realize the effects of rain, snow, and ice, and how to handle difficult situations.
Prerequisites: Learner’s Permit.

Safe Operating Practices:

Students will learn advanced methods of operating a tractor and trailer, as well as road speed, space management extreme driving conditions, hours of service, hazardous awareness, and sliding 5th wheel and tandem axles.
Prerequisites: Learner’s Permit.

Advanced Operating Practices:

Students will learn vehicle systems, methods and processes of vehicle inspections, how to properly recognize truck / trailer malfunctions, as well as how to report any malfunctions. Prerequisites: Learner’s Permit

Systems and Malfunctions:

The student will learn how to properly fill out cargo documentation and will learn how to carefully handle cargo, as well as how to keep track of service log sheets.
Prerequisites: Learner’s Permit.
